Plans for a sports complex that will provide multiple tournament-quality playing fields for baseball, soccer and football was approved by the board of supervisors Monday.
The $1.3 million project will see the construction of two little league-size fields, including one that's convertible to a softball field, a tee-ball field and a football/soccer field. The plan also includes three practice fields.
Several residents turned out Monday in support of the proposed effort, for which the board held a public hearing.
Angie Mutter, speaking on behalf of the Buchanan County Soccer Association, said the construction of a field for local soccer athletes was essential.
