Please Give the Photo a Few Minutes to Load (Large File)

All decked out in uniform, young Navy Seaman 1st Class Ira Osborne (left) is pictured in the year 1945 while serving his country. Formerly of Buchanan County, he is the son of Whitten and Jane Osborne, who raised their family in the Dave's Branch section of Grundy near Mountain Mission School. Some 64 years later, Osborne, (right) dressed in Navy attire, poses for a new photo. Currently residing in Elkton, MD, he is still an avid Mountaineer fan and subscriber. He attended elementary school in Grundy and is married to Betty L. Osborne, who submitted the photos.
