This picture was taken in the mid-1940s of Bill and Fannie Dotson of Vansant, both now deceased. Bill was a coal miner and Fannie was a homemaker. They were married on February 1, 1945. They had nine children: Marie Elswick of Abingdon; Mildred Woods of South Haven, MI; Charlene Lockhart of Defiance, OH; Wanda Yates of Vansant; Buford Dotson of Benton, KY; Leon Dotson of Whitehouse, OH; Rita Owens of Harmony, NC; Catherine Boys of Taylorsville, NC; and Sharon Dotson, deceased. They have 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
