THE TWO handsome Army men in this photo are Earnest Deel (left) and James Cecil (Cec) Deel (right). The two first cousins served in Germany in peacetime Earnest is the son of the late Willie and Mary Jane (Deel) Deel and Cecil is the son of the late Silas and Ethel Lee (Murdock) Deel. Earnest retired from GM and moved back to Va. with wife Jane. He is an accomplished pilot who built his own experimental small aircraft. Cec married Lois Coleman, daughter of Mae Bell (Yates) and Levi (L.A.) Coleman and they had six children. Cecil also resides at Birchleaf. Cecil made his living as a coal  miner, logger and equipment operator. This photo was submitted by Cecil's daughter, Rita Ann Justus, of Hurley.
