Childers, Rowe Win WCC's 39th Member-Guest Title
60 Golfers Compete in Tournament

Morehead State University recruit Peyton Childers teamed up with his partner Andy Rowe to capture the championship flight crown in the 39th annual Ron King Memorial Member-Guest Golf Tournament held this weekend at Willowbrook Country Club, near the Breaks.
Childers, who recently signed a scholarship to play golf at Morehead State University in Kentucky, and Rowe, displayed their talents on the course during Sunday’s final round to come back from a one-stroke deficit and take a one-stroke lead over the finals holes to capture top honors in the two-day golf/social event at WCC.
Some 30 WCC members and their guests competed in the two-day, 36-hole event which saw a variety of formats played over the two rounds.
Saturday’s opening round (18 holes) featured a captain’s choice format for the first nine holes, while the back nine holes featured a best ball format for the 60 golfers. On Sunday, the first nine holes were played on an alternate shot format (modified) and the back nine holes played on a best ball (among the twosome) format.
Childers and Rowe opened Saturday’s round with a score of eight-under-par, 62, one stroke back of Saturday’s leaders Dennis Ratliff and his son, Adam Ratliff.
The Ratliff duo posted a blistering round of nine-under-par, 61, to lead all golfers on Saturday, earning the twosome medalist honors (lowest round score) during the tournament.
The twosome of Buckey Blankenship and guest Ryan Turner, the remaining pair in the championship flight, posted a round of 63 on Saturday, just two strokes back heading into Sunday’s final 18 holes.
Childers and Rowe shot a round of 69 on Sunday with the tougher format change, beating out the Ratliff twosome by two strokes (71) on Sunday for the championship title.
Childers and Rowe finished with a two-day score of 131, while Dennis and Adam posted a score of 132 to claim runner-up honors in the championship flight. Blankenship and Turner completed play in the flight with a 36-hole score 135 to win third-place honors.
In the first flight of competition, the twosome of WCC Pro Glen Turner and his son, Rusty, took home first-place honors with a one-stroke advantage after 36 holes of play.
The Turner duo posted a score of 67 on Saturday and came back with a round of 70 on Sunday for a two-day total 137, good enough to hold off the father-son duo of Mike and Jordan Mullins by just a single stroke. Mike and Jordan posted rounds of 69 on Saturday and 69 on Sunday to finish with a 36-hole total 138, earning the twosome runner-up honors in the first flight.
