Lady Wave Claims Easy Win in Open Track & Field Meet
Haysi Captures Boys' Team Title

Terri Stacy, Holly Childress and Sarah Davis all collected key hits as Grundy pounded Graham, 10-4, in Southwest District softball action -Tuesday afternoon at Enoch’s Branch.
Stacy and Childress each drove in two runs, while Davis contributed two this, two stolen bases and an RBI for Grundy (8-3, 1-3 SWD). The Lady Wave rallied from a 3-1 deficit with five runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth.
“Sarah Davis and Terri Stacy and Holly Childress, those three have been hitting the ball well for us,” Grundy coach Anthony Church said. “They’ve been our clutch hitters all year.”
Amber Foster allowed just four hits overall and a single run in the final five innings to earn the win for the Lady Wave.
“Amber’s putting ball over the plate and the defense is playing better,” Church said. “Sarah Davis is playing steady defense for us.
“Amber did a good job. Graham had us down 3-1 there (in the second inning). They’ve improved a lot.”
Grundy will host Carroll County in SWD play on Friday afternoon.
