Ilene Hale Compton Wolfe had this professional
portrait taken of her in about 1948 at Hannibal Compton's Grundy studio.
Her parents were the late Ira and Electa Hale. She was married to Edward
Compton and they had two sons, Paul and Glenn. Edward died nine years ago.
She remarried four years ago, after meeting Charles Wolfe. Ilene was a
long-time Buchanan County teacher and educator, retiring after 43 years as
a music teacher and later librarian at Council Elementary.
